Daryl Parker became interested in horses when we rented a house next them in Cincinnati, Ohio. He asked Daddy, Oscar Dishman, Jr., if he could ride to the track (River Downs) with him. The more time he spent at the track, the more he became involved with the racing industry.
Daryl has done it all: He was an exercise rider, pony boy and jockey agent.
Daryl became the first African American to report for The Racing Form. Later, Parker became the first Black racing official in America! He is currently the State Steward in Ohio.
